Coach Mentoring is the development of a coach by an experienced coach or supervisor. Coach Mentoring can also apply to
the development of a team in which a coaching culture is to be introduced.
As with other subjects, there are different levels of coaching, from beginner to advanced. The Coach Mentor is able to
assess the level of coaching and to develop the coach to a higher level of capability and standard.
Coach Mentoring can also be applied to the development of a manager as a coach. Managers need to manage as
well as being able to coach. However, there can often be a misunderstanding about, say, when to be direct and when to
use the language of coaching, or how to use a coaching style of management.
These are issues that can be clarified in a coach mentoring programme.
