Career Management and Outplacement

Career Management

In today's climate of change and organisational restructuring, it is important for you to be able to manage your career and promote yourself effectively into the particular avenue of work that gives satisfaction and develops self-esteem.

If you are seeking career coaching within an organisation, it can enable you to position yourself and promote yourself within the organisation to the best advantage. For example, progressing from an operations role to a strategic position; extending managerial skills to director competence.

If you are being made redundant, or as an organisation you are having to make people redundant, our 15 years in the outplacement industry enables us to give you realistic advice and a reliable range of possibilities and our outplacement programme opposite outlines the opportunities in this area.

Career Coaching

This involves both personal and professional development. The career coach makes an initial assessment, including a skills audit, personality strengths, natural abilities, aptitudes and achievements. This acts as a basis for a gap analysis and a development plan to increase knowledge, capabilities and confidence to move out of comfort zones in order to build character and leadership qualities.

Outplacement

We offer a programme of 5 modules and meetings to help you through the process of outplacement.

1) Career direction

This programme involves a two-hours meeting, a psychometric assessment of your individual personality style, strengths and interests; the identifying of your best-suited career direction and a summary report with recommended actions to be taken.

2) Designing and composing a convincing CV

The CV is a selling document; its' purpose is to gain an interview. It therefore needs to be carefully crafted to ensure that you meet the right people.

3) Self-marketing

Targeting the right organisation, using the best agency, surfing the internet and effective networking are all important to the self-marketing strategy. Our experience and contacts can help you to get intouch with the right people.

4) Interview coaching

To win a job offer, you will need to convey a confident and competent personal and professional style. You will also need to be prepared for different types of interview, assessment centres and presentations. In this module we take you through these hurdles and provide telephone and email support while you are preparing, or indeed, considering which job offer to take.

5) Life Planning

Developing your future, either following retirement or as a means to creating a balanced lifestyle can be a complex process. This part of the programme covers all aspects of your life: health, finance, relationships, meaningful activities, creativity, contribution to the community and any other area that you want to develop.

The above programme can be taken as a complete programme, or the modules can be mixed and matched to suit your needs.
